Our Story
Bright Little Sunshine’s Daycare was founded by Heather Hobbs, who grew up in Kokomo with a heart for caring, teaching, and inspiring young children. Heather has been working in childcare since 2009, and from the very beginning, she knew she had found her passion — helping little ones learn, grow, and shine.
In 2015, Heather turned that passion into something truly special when she opened Bright Little Sunshine’s Daycare, a licensed home daycare built on love, learning, and laughter. With over 16 years of professional experience and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Heather brings both expertise and warmth to every part of her program.

At Bright Little Sunshine’s, Heather creates a nurturing, family-like environment where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to explore. She believes that learning happens best through play and connection — whether it’s story time, hands-on activities, or celebrating small milestones together.

Heather’s favorite part of her work is the joy she sees in children’s faces as they discover something new. For her, every giggle, every “aha!” moment, and every hug is a reminder of why she started this journey — to make a difference in the lives of children and their families.

Our Philosophy
We believe children have the right to a nurturing, safe environment where they can feel comfortable and secure Thereby, teachers have the responsibility to provide opportunities for the children to develop to their maximum abilities
Learning Environment
Bright Little Sunshine’s Daycare recognizes that each child is an individual and allows them to develop at their own pace. All our staff accepts and respects the differences between children, including developmental and physical differences and differences in racial and ethnic heritage. This is visible throughout the day in the way we: talk with the children, give them choices in play, set up their environment. offer challenging and varied experiences that encourage creativity and follow the interest of each child in our center. Every child regardless of sex, race, religion, or ethnic origin must have the same opportunities and advantages to develop to their individual potential.
Growth
Children learn best through active participation in their environment. Therefore, it is also the teacher's job to provide a variety of opportunities and experiences to promote growth in all skill areas including physical, emotional, social, and intellectual. Teachers strive to thoughtfully plan activities that meet the developmental needs of differing children, and which follow sound early childhood developmental principles
